4 Criteria for Liposuction Surgery Eligibility

  • 1. The weight of the candidate for the surgery should be average or just slightly above average.
  • 2. The firmer the skin of the candidate the better.
  • 3. The candidates should have localized centres accumulating fats in their body.
  • 4. Under general conditions, the candidate should have a normal healthy body.

a) UAL

This liposuction surgery utilizes ultrasound that melts the fat underneath the skin or muscles of the body. It then removes the melted fat through the cannula.

b) Tumescent liposuction:

As mentioned in WebMD, this process proceeds with numbing the area of the body through a local anaesthesia. This is the area where the tube for suction is inserted. Then a large amount of anaesthesia is injected into the fatty tissues prior to the surgery.

c) Power-assisted liposuction:

This is almost similar to tumescent liposuction surgery technique. It just uses another vibrating tool to enhance the fat breakdown process. This makes it easier for fats to be removed. It is most preferred for the abdomen and back areas of the body.

d) LAL:

This is the Laser Assisted Liposuction Surgery that utilises low energy waves to melt the stored fat.

e) Vaser liposuction:

It is another version of liposuction surgery technique where a grooved cannula is used. This cannula disperses energy evenly in the areas and enhances breaking down of fat.

Although liposuction surgery goes for removal of fat, this fat may bounce back.

5. Liposuction has side effects

Well, no cosmetic surgery is without side effects. Liposuction comes with a fair share of them too.

Swelling, bruising, soreness, irritation are the common liposuction side effects.

However, a more intense side effect of damages to the nerves and skin near the targeted areas can be bad.
