Moong Bean Bottle Gourd Soup

  • 1/4 cup moong dal
  • 1/4 cup chopped vegetables( carrot,lauki ,pumpkin)
  • 1/2 tsp freshly grated ginger
  • 1 tsp cow ghee
  • 1/2 tsp jeera
  • 1/2 tsp pepper powder
  • pinch of ajwain
  • 2 cup water
  • salt to taste

Method

  1. Heat ghee in a pressure cooker, fry the cumin till it begins to sizzle.

  2. Add ginger and saute without burning.

  3. Add washed and soaked dal to the pressure cooker.

  4. Fry for 3 to 4 minutes.

  5. Add the veggies and fry for about 2 minutes.

  6. Pour water and cook on low or medium flame for 1 to 2 whistles.

  7. When the pressure releases, mash the dal and add desired spice powders. Serve it hot.
