Seeds Cocktail Porridge

If you haven’t tried making seeds cocktail porridge so far, you’ve gotta try it. These are nutrient-dense superfoods rich in essential vitamins and minerals. This recipe is really simple and you can earn a fortune of good health by incorporating it in your diet.

  • 100 gm barley or farro, soaked in water overnight
  • 100 gm rolled oats, soaked in water overnight
  • 150 ml low fat milk
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 5 nos cardamom pods
  • 1 tsp brown sugar or jaggery
  • 2-3 tbsp p seed cocktail, to serve

Method

  1. Drain the barley and oats and place in a deep saucepan. Pour in the milk, along with a splash of water, a good pinch of salt and the cinnamon stick and cardamom pods. Bring it to a boil, then cook for 5–10 minutes, until the barley is tender. Add an extra splash of water if it looks as if it’s sticking.

  2. Take off the heat and stir through the sugar, adding a little more if it needs it.

  3.  Divide between bowls then scatter a teaspoon of each seed over each serving. Serve immediately.

  4. Here you can remove the cinnamon and cardamom pods before serving.
